Data Collection
VO does not share or sell your personal information.
VO collects information from website visitors at several different points on this website. We collect only the domain name of visitors to our website, aggregate information on what pages visitors access, and information volunteered by the visitor such as survey information, email, and other personal information.
The information we collect is used to improve our website and to follow up with visitors, including to notify them about updates to our website and alert them about issues and opportunities at VO. All personal information is stored on a secure server with password protection.
The information is not shared with or sold to other organizations for commercial purposes. We do not share or sell your personal information.
Visitors under the age of 13 (US) or 16 (EU and elsewhere), please ask your parent or guardian for consent before submitting personal information to this site. If we have reason to believe a visitor is underage and we have collected their personal information without proper consent, we will delete that information in a reasonable period of time.
Financial Transactions
VO does not sell donors’ contact information.
To process a charitable contribution or product purchase, it is necessary for VO to gather the donor’s name, email address, mailing address, phone number, and credit card information. This data is used to verify identity and execute the financial transaction. Additionally, phone number and email address information may be used to contact visitors regarding the transaction.
VO may use service providers such as merchant banks and e-commerce companies for the express purpose of conducting financial transactions. It is important to note that credit card numbers are used only at the time of the transaction, and are not stored following the conclusion of the transaction unless a transaction is selected that occurs on a regular basis. For transactions that recur, the credit card information is stored in an encrypted format.
Your Data, Opt-Out, and Right to be Forgotten
VO does not share or sell your personal information.
Supporters and donors can email [email protected] to obtain details about what information we store about them, to opt-out of our lists, or to request changes to personal data as collected by VO.
Supporters and donors have the “Right to be Forgotten” and can email [email protected] to request that we remove their personal contact information from our records.
Donors should please note that we are obligated to store monetary transaction records per our document retention policy in keeping with best practices for 501c3 organizations.
